Ive been an established DJ on the northern Old skool scene for over 14 years now, and more recently I am behind the PIANO JUNKIES ,the oldskool DJ / Producers making brand new piano house and nu rave sounds. Ive been an avid vinyl collector since the late 90s and still am to this very day always searching for them elusive tracks from back in the day and the undiscovered ones that always try to feature in my sets making them different from the rest During my time djin ive had many residencys with different nights around the north and Ive featured as a guest DJ at nearly all of the big rave & old skool events around the north of england, right from the smaller club nights to the bigger warehouse / multi room rave events , in this time ive been lucky enough to have graced the decks with many of my heroes i grew up watching as a clubber and ive played with most of the countrys biggest names in the oldskool / rave scene Some of my past appearances include . . . . . Exit Point's passion for the music began in the early 90s, a fan of the Madchester sound of The Stone Roses & Happy Mondays, from here, his musical tastes shifted to the underground Rave sounds of the mid 90's after being introduced to a mixtape by a friend. This led to Exit becoming an avid listener of the local pirate stations, Mix FM, Fresh FM (Leicester) & Kool FM (Birmingham).This keenness further led Exit to take up DJ'ing, initially with a pair of Soundlab belt drives & a Numark mixer. Exit got into the Jungle sound in 1994 and would buy his vinyl from the legendary 5HQ shop in Leicester.

It all started when i was about 13 years old, my pal who was a few years older than me gave me a carrier bag full of tapes jammed with pirate radio station recordings and underground tuneidge.............id never heard anything like it and was blown away, always wanting to tune into pirate radio stations in my dads car stereo in the mid 1990's in my hometown 'Birmingham', 808 State, LFO, Sweet exorcist, carl cox, prodigy, to name a few .............. Music never stopped for me......................As i progressed from Acid......... to Hardcore........... to Drum and Bass.................Jungle............ to House, i soon realised i liked a lot of styles. I got my first set of decks when i was about 14-15 years old, trust me they were a djs nighmare but fun along the way........i always looked at myself as a bedroom dj who just loved to mix...always dreaming of a set of 1210s................. i would crusie around in my car listening to my own mix tapes with my pals who soon got into the vibe too, before we new it we was jamming at house partys all the time just for the love of the music.........and Cruising around in our cars playing our own sets............we felt on top of the world.......................Music was our life............ As the years went by, i started a family and the mixing was put on hold for a coupe of years.................. i eventually got the 1210s, however this only lasted about 2 years before i finally bit the bullet and converted to a set of pioneer cdj2000's............. i have played out at a few low key gigs and private partys and feel alive with the music, so i suppose the rest is still yet to be written...... 2011 : I mix with one of my closest pals Dom Amis aka dj Fr33dom ......2 x CDJ2000s and a DJM2000.............i'm mixing a lot of progressive house in my later years, it seems to be where im most happy @...............but watch this space................anything could happen....... im recently in possession of a djm2000 and just getting to grips with the unit same as DJ Fr33dom .........what a machine............:)

Music has been at the centre of my life for as long as I can remember and im confident to say its shaped who I am today. From a very young age I was very much into Syththesized music , especially Jean Michelle Jarre (one of my all time heroes). Along side this I loved early electro house and Detroit techno so naturally , was blown away with the late 80’s acid house explosion and even more so by the early 90’s Rave explosion, and this is where my passion really set in. I first went on a pair of decks at the tender age of 9 years old (1991), and around this time got 1xdeck for Christmas, now….clearly you don’t have to be a dj to understand that this is useless for mixing, but, for beatmatching, this was the best thing you could imagine! Id beatmatch vinyls to tapes,or anything that was playing in the house,and by the time I got my 2nd deck and mixer at 12years old, the learning curve of beatmatching was already mastered! Now, musically , im predominantly Hardcore, always have been, from early breakbeat hardcore right through to todays sounds. Ive loved the evolution of the sound and have the same passion for the sound as I did 20 years ago. Trance was a major influence for me in the 90’s too , especially Paul Oakenfold/Sasha/Digweed to name a few….their ability to seamlessly blend tracks together over the course of an hour or so and leave me feeling like id been on a musical journey really inspired me and applied this same technique to everything I mixed. Today, I concentrate mainly on Uk Hardcore and Hard dance, which while im “here” must mention how impressed and inspiring I find hard dance at the mo , from the techy minimal sounds right through to the tough hardstyle sounds of Europe, I feel this scene has got a lot to offer and has something for everyone. Im loving the Hard dance scene as a whole at the moment, whether it be Breakbeats/Kickdrums/trancey/ravey/techy/fast/slow…..the scene in my eyes is as diverse as its ever been, whatever others may think! Music is a way of life!
